Port of Shahid Rajaee explosion disaster


An explosion and fire occurred at the Port of Shahid Rajaee in southern Iran, which is part of Bandar Abbas's larger port infrastructure, killing 57 and injuring over 1,000 people. The blast was so powerful that it was felt and heard about 50 kilometres away. Following the immediate emergency needs, further follow up medical treatments for blast and chemical air pollution specific injuries is needed for months and years, including physical disabilities, breathing difficulties, mental trauma and other secondary and tertiary blast effects. This requires multi-faceted approach.
